Notes: April 25, 2013:
* The inscription on Malvina Wertheimer’s gravestone is the only trace we have of a Milton Wertheimer born 1883 in Themar, dead in Theresienstadt. The German Archives, Gedenkbuch, the Yad Vashem database, and Theresienstadt database do not contain any records. It is possible, indeed probable, that the Milton Wertheimer identified on the tombstone is Nathan and Malvine’s son-in-law, the husband of Bella Wertheimer.
** This Milton Wertheimer, born on the 17 May 1886 in Themar, was the son of Louis and Emma (née Frankenberg) Wertheimer. The Gedenkbuch, Yad Vashem database, and the Joods Holocaust Memorial all document his fate.
For the moment both Miltons appear in the Ahnentafel above. We hope that further research will clarify this confusion.
^ On 10 May 1941, Bella Wertheimer was deported to Belzyce Ghetto, not Riga,
With thanks to the family of Julius Wertheimer who have provided important information and documentation.
